March Newsletter-COVID-19 Updates

Dear Bear Roots Friends, ~The way things are right now is not the way they will always be~

Bear Roots Massage will remain open until advised otherwise and we will continue to keep and increase our high sanitary measures to ensure a safe and clean environment for you.

We understand some of you are unexpectedly dealing with things that may be increasing your stress levels immensely. Remember stress and anxiety can weaken your immune system, so we want to support you during this time. While there are things which are out of our control at the moment, let's focus on the things we can control!

Please know we are here for you and if you have any questions, concerns or just need someone to talk to, please feel free to call! 406.285.8605

We have put together some helpful tips to help you keep busy and yet stay calm and healthy:

1) Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water!

2) Find time every day, even if just for 5 minutes, to practice some calming breaths and calm the nerves. A simple, yet effective technique called 4-7-8 breathing can be very helpful. It is best to sit with your feet flat on the ground and count to 4 as you inhale, hold it for a count of 7, then slowly exhale to the count of 8. Do this a few times or a few more until you feel the release of the tension. (If you have any essential oils or any scent you love, put some in yours hands and inhale while doing your deep breaths!)

3) Get plenty of rest.

4) If you are bored or feel the need to release some energy, there are hundreds of youtube exercise videos of all kinds from yoga to Zumba and even cross-fit. Whatever style you like, this is a fun and free way to get moving. ~Follow Jenna Anderson with Experience Movement on Facebook for free workouts, yoga, or private video sessions.

5) If you can, take a walk or a hike outdoors (keeping a safe- 6 ft distance from others).

6) If you need some extra entertainment for your children, @gonoodle is a free channel on Roku or other streaming devices that can entertain children for hours with tons of exercises and activities!

7) Another idea for children is to try to teach them one new thing each day that they may not learn at school: such as how to cook an egg, or how to bake a loaf of bread. It will be a fun and inexpensive way to bond together.

8) Do one act of kindness for a neighbor, family member or someone you know that is unable to do things for themselves during this time, ex. donate extra food, clothing or hygiene items to our local charities or shelters such as The Heart Locker or The Veterans Home.

9) Try to learn something new yourself. Maybe you are good at drawing and you don't know it yet? There are lots of easy "learn to draw" examples online. Hold drawing competitions within your household or in an online group of friends.

10) Call friends and/or relatives to check in with them. We all need to lean-in (from a distance ) to each other!

11) Take a hot, Epsom salt bath.

12) REMEMBER this is only temporary and things will return to normal!!

We will be posting stretches, activity links, and more helpful tips on our blog as well any last minute cancellations via social media, so keep a look out!

~Until next time~

Stay Safe and Healthy
